Welcome to Siam House, or Tŷ Siam as it is known in Welsh. One of our family’s loves is Asia and Thailand in particular, where we have lived for many years. However, our true home is Wales where most of our family is from. “Siam” is the former name for Thailand and we chose this as the name for the house to reflect our love of Thailand, which has played such a large part in our lives.
The house is nestled in a small estate of 12 houses and is the second largest on the estate. In 2007 the buildings were converted into dwellings, having, until that time, formed part of a working farm. From records we have seen, we believe that the farm dates back to the early 1800s. The estate is situated between the small village of Dwyran and neighboring Newborough, with its outstanding beach, forest and nature reserve. You can see the Snowdonia mountain range and the Menai Straits from the garden of the house.
Anglesey has many wonderful places to visit, from the great beaches on the west coast, which play host to numerous sporting events and attraction such as surfing, windsurfing, triathlons and sailing. If you would like to try any water based sports head to either Rhosneiger or the watersports center, Menai Watersports. There are many beautiful walks on Anglesey and the circular walk around Anglesey starts only 500 meters from the house, down at the Stepping Stones.
